20/20 Vision: Celebrating 20 years of abfa

7 July - 30 September 2023

Press Release:

20 years ago, ABFA opened on State Street in Downtown Binghamton, NY in a late 1800's brick warehouse that Anthony Brunelli converted into lofts and a ground-floor contemporary art gallery.  This move pioneered a renaissance for loft development in the city and the formation of an arts district on State Street.  Over the years, our gallery has grown to now represent more than 60 artists from around the world and we participate in some of the leading international art fairs around the country.  We are proud to look back over the past twenty years to reflect on our growth and couldn't have done it without the support of our community, friends, collectors and amazing artists who we all consider our extended family.

Highlights from this exhibition will feature Anthony Brunelli’s latest painting, Washington Square Park, an uplifting masterpiece that depicts a summer crowd gathering around the fountain on a beautiful day at the center of the park.  New works from more than 20 selected artists from our gallery will be on display, including two artists who are new to our gallery's program - Levi Justice and Leeah Joo.  A painting from her series, Mawu Nyonu by Ghanaian painter, Na Chainkua Reindorf will be on display which was featured in last year's Venice Biennale and received worldwide attention from collectors, curators, writers and critics.  The exhibit will have a special focus on Photorealism, Contemporary Realism and Hyperrealist Sculpture, which our ABFA has become known for over the years.
