2 December - 20 December 2020
Press Release:
Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts is pleased to present a selection of works from our leaders in Contemporary Post-Modern Realism whose work reflects some of the highest examples of quality craftsmanship and innovation in this year's online edition of Art Miami/CONTEXT Art Miami. The fair is on view exclusively through Artsy.net from December 2 - 20, 2020. This exhibition highlights a selection of works from our program that emphasize superior techniques and an expert dedication to specific modes of creating across different mediums.
Thomas Pfannerstill elevates debris and detritus to the status of precious objects as carefully carved and painstakingly painted trompe l'oeil sculptures in his From the Street series. Pushing illusion through painting, Sharon Moody’s attention to detail and use of shadows make her painting of comic book pages feel like real page turners. Be it photorealist paintings that transport the viewer to unusually quiet cityscapes devoid of human beings (Hisaya Tiara), or a portrait painted on a polished steel sphere that leaves you uncertain of depth (Martin Herbst), this collection of works featuring 24 artists and one artist duo will have viewers asking what exactly it is they are seeing. Welcoming new additions to our gallery program from international artists, José Manuel Cajal (Spanish), Daniel Cuervo (Spanish), Benjamin M. Johnson (American), Tom Martin (British), Andreas Orosz (German), Peter and Madeline Powell (American), Cesar Santander (Spanish-American).
