Drawings by roger Watt

AN ONLINE EXCLUSIVE EXHIBITION

15 June 2020 - 19 July 2020

About the exhibition:

Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts is pleased to launch our new online exhibition of meticulously crafted graphite drawings by Roger Watt (British, b. 1947).  Within this exhibition, you will find Watt's pursuit of dynamic compositions found in urban environments, industrial shapes, reflections and railroads.

Roger Watt finds the physical process of putting marks on paper with graphite to be addictive, fulfilling and distinctly personal as it is a link to his father who first instilled in him the pure joy of drawing. He has drawn for as long as he can remember and, further encouraged by an inspirational tutor at art school, found drawing a therapeutic retreat during his career as an art/creative director in international publishing. Possessing an industrial undercurrent, Watt’s images explore the unexpected. They originate from chance encounters . . . a “corner of the eye” view . . . the spontaneity of which is in marked contrast to his meticulous drawing process. Watt has exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London and internationally with galleries in New York, London and Vancouver, where he now lives.
