A First Friday Art Gallery has taken the theme of borrowing from a neighbor to a new level.
Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts is hosting “A Cup of Sugar” for First Friday at its gallery located at 186 State Street in Binghamton.
The show is a collaboration between Brunelli and the Exhibit A Art Gallery in Corning.
Exhibit A Curator Ann Welles has taken her works and designed a show at Brunelli, and Brunelli has does the same at Exhibit A.
Director John Brunelli says the galleries have been trying to team up for a special project.
Director John Brunelli says, “We always thought it would be a good idea to collaborate. The art world can be a lonely domain, especially in Upstate New York. It’s a competitive domain, so it seems. We wanted to get back to the old fashioned notion of borrowing from your neighbor, so it’s an exchange.
Brunelli and Welles will host a Director’s Talk conversation at each of their galleries in the coming weeks.
The Cup of Sugar show runs through September.
